Muse, Kasabian top NME awards with two apiece

Muse and Kasabian tied for top spot at the NME music awards on Wednesday with two prizes apiece.

London: Muse and Kasabian tied for top spot at the NME music awards on Wednesday with two prizes apiece.Blur and Arctic Monkeys also scored wins at the music magazine`s annual awards, where male bands dominated despite expectations in the pop world that 2010 will be another big year for female solo acts.
And U.S. rockers Paramore were the surprise winners of the international band category, beating the likes of Green Day, Kings of Leon and Vampire Weekend. NME editor Krissi Murison said 3.6 million votes were cast to decide the outcome of the awards. Muse won awards for best British band and best website, while Kasabian scooped the best album and best album artwork categories for "West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum." Britpop veterans Blur won best live event for their gig at Hyde Park, and Arctic Monkeys were named best live band after a sell-out tour in 2009. The Big Pink won best track for "Dominos" and best new band went to London indie rockers Bombay Bicycle Club.
