One Direction, Pharrell to headline for Apple Music Festival
Boy band One Direction and "Happy" hitmaker Pharell Williams are among the headliners for upcoming 2015 Apple Music Festival.
Los Angeles: Boy band One Direction and "Happy" hitmaker Pharell Williams are among the headliners for upcoming 2015 Apple Music Festival.
English indie band Florence and the Machine and music duo Disclosure will also perform at London's Roundhouse during the 10-day event (September 19-28) previously known as iTunes Music Festival.
"It'll be great to be back in London and we can't wait to perform for our fans in the Roundhouse and around the world on Apple Music! See you there!" the British four-piece's Niall Horan shared his excitement in a statement.
Williams said, "I'm so grateful to be performing at the Apple Music Festival. The Roundhouse is such a historic venue ... There's always a special energy in the crowd. Thank you for having me!"
Other acts in the line-up will be revealed in the coming weeks.
"We wanted to do something really special for music fans this year," said Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services.
"The Apple Music Festival is a greatest hits set of ten unbelievable nights featuring some of the best performers on the planet appearing live and interacting directly with their fans on Connect and Beats 1."
Fans in the UK can apply to win tickets to attend the festival. The performances will be broadcast live and on-demand on Apple Music.
