Pop star Katy Perry and the last installment in the Harry Potter franchise swept the 2012 People`s Choice awards, but none of the winners were present at the gala to accept their trophies.

Los Angeles: Pop star Katy Perry and the last installment in the Harry Potter franchise swept the 2012 People`s Choice awards, but none of the winners were present at the gala to accept their trophies.
Perry, who decided to stay away from Wednesday`s show following her marriage split with Russell Brand, won five trophies - favorite female artist, tour headliner, song of the year for `ET` with Kanye West, music video for `Last Friday Night` and TV guest star for `How I Met Your Mother`.
`Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2` bagged four honours - the favorite movie, action movie, book adaptation and ensemble movie cast - although no stars from the film attended, reported People magazine.
Even socialite Kim Kardashian, who was voted the favourite TV celebreality star, did not make an appearance and expressed her gratitude on Twitter: "Thank you to everyone who voted for me tonight for the People`s Choice Awards! It means the world to me!"
But among other winners who attended were Emma Stone, who was named the favorite movie actress and favorite comedic actress, as well as `Glee` star Lea Michele who won the favorite TV comedy actress gong.
Johnny Depp was named favorite movie actor and favorite animated voice for his role in `Rango`, while Hugh Jackman grabbed the favorite action movie star trophy and Ryan Reynolds nabbed the favorite movie superhero award.
The favorite comedic movie actor award went to Adam Sandler, while teen star Demi Lovato was handed the favorite pop artist prize. Robert Pattinson accepted the award for best drama movie for `Water For Elephants`. Morgan Freeman was honoured with the favorite movie icon award.
The biggest ovation at the event went to Betty White, who is celebrating her 90th birthday. On stage with her costars from the best cable comedy show winner `Hot in Cleveland`, she told the crowd, "I haven`t done anything."
