Lahore crooner strums for the cause of Indo-Pak friendship

In a bid to foster friendship between India and Pakistan, a budding singer from across the border has launched a music album.

Mumbai: In a bid to foster friendship and harmony between India and Pakistan, a budding singer from across the border has launched a music album in a modest function held here.
The album titled `Chal Sang Mere Toon` composed by Emad Hassan, who is a descendant of a prominent family based in Lahore, was yesterday launched by filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt at Press Club here. Besides Emad his Indian counterpart Aman Trikha has also sung a few numbers in `Chal Sang....`. Asserting that the album is aimed at bridging the gap between India and Pakistan, the budding singer said he wants to propagate the message of peace and harmony through music. Eminent filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt who released the album told reporters on the occasion that "our ideology is no war at any cost". Bhatt further said that gen-x is free of perceived prejudices, especially in the context of relationship between the two estranged neighbours, and salutes the spirit of young artists. The title song of `Chal Sang....`was already aired on some television channels in India on Aug 15 this year, Emad said. PTI
