New Delhi: Musician Panjabi MC, known for popular song "Mundiya tu bachke", has created a new song for Y-Films` ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’. The song "Haaay!" will feature in the movie`s opening credits.
"Haaay!" is sung by Manake, with rap by Panjabi MC himself. It will be played during the introduction of the two leads of the movie - Saqib Saleem and Rhea Chakraborty.
"It was a fantastic experience to score for Yash Raj Films, Bollywood`s biggest studio. The song `Haaay!` from `Mere Dad Ki Maruti` came to me with a very clear brief, so it was easy and a lot of fun for me to compose this track," Panjabi MC said in a statement.
"Also, given that the story is set in Chandigarh, scoring Punjabi music is second nature to me," he added.
The film releases March 15.
