Chandigarh: The inaugural season of Bridgestone World Series Hockey (WSH) will see a star-studded opening - Bollywood celebrities like Saif Ali Khan, Neha Dhupia and singer Mika will perform at the event here Wednesday.
The opening ceremony will also see singer Harshdeep Kaur belting out the chartbuster song "Katiya Karoon" from "Rockstar", along with Mika, who is the voice behind songs like "Tu mera hero" and "Dhinka chika".
Neha has a special dance performance, while Saif will release a new song from his spy thriller "Agent Vinod" along with a performance.
"We have put together a star-studded opening ceremony to match the scale of any global sporting event. This is a first for hockey in India and the grand opening will be a perfect cocktail of unmatched entertainment and top drawer sporting action," Yannick Colaco, COO, Nimbus Sport said in a statement.
"Wizcraft has extensive experience in putting together international acts and has worked on the ICC World Cup and IPL. We are going to dazzle the audience in the stadium and viewers across the world with a spectacular opening ceremony," Colaco added.
Wizcraft International is also the franchise owners of the Delhi WSH team - the Delhi Wizards.
"This is just the boost hockey required and I am glad Wizcraft will play an important role in launching a landmark sporting property like WSH," Sabbas Joseph, director Wizcraft International added.
