London: Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit song ‘Call me maybe’ has been voted as the Song of the Summer by Billboard magazine.
The 26-year-old’s first single, which spent nine consecutive weeks at number one on America``s Billboard Hot 100 chart, topped the publication``s list of popular songs from summer 2012. The Canadian singer is the first artist, after Katy Perry to claim the title with a debut record. Perry is also in this year``s (12) top five with her track Wide Awake at number four, behind Maroon 5``s Payphone at two and Gotye``s Somebody That I Used to Know at three. The top five is rounded out by Ellie Goulding``s Lights. ANI
