Elton John calls Oasis ‘stupid sods’

London: Sir Elton John has slammed Oasis’ co-lead singers and brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher calling them “stupid sods” for failing to crack America.

John, 63, said the two Noel, 43, and Liam, 38, were very popular until they cancelled a series of gigs in the US in the mid-Nineties.

“They were enormous in Britain, they were enormous in America and they went over there and argued between themselves and cancelled the tour and they never broke America,” the Sun quoted him as saying.

“You only get it once, and if you blow it, it’s gone. You can’t not regret that. I always thought, ‘You stupid sods. You’ll never get that opportunity again’,” he stated.

John went on to say during an interview with Absolute Radio’s Christian O’Connell that he thinks the Gallagher brothers are only children compared to the members of Coldplay and Muse.

“It’s only the cream that rises to the top. It’s always the ones with the best work ethic and the best material and the best attitude,” he said.

“You know, it’s the boys from the men. Coldplay, Muse, U2, Police, all those bands. They’re the men, and all the rest are boys,” he added.
