London: Pop star Jessie J has postponed her upcoming tour after failing to finish her new album on time.
The 24-year-old `Price Tag` hitmaker had planned to return to the charts early next year with a follow-up to her hit 2011 debut `Who You Are` and show off her new music in a series of shows.
However, the studio sessions have taken longer than expected and the tracks won`t be ready in time for the tour to kick off in February, so the singer has pushed the dates back by eight months, reported Daily Star online.
"I would like to be the first to tell that you that my Nice to Meet You Tour has been rescheduled to later next year. I am honestly truly sorry but I hope you all can understand that it`s just because I would like to take more time to finish my new album," Jessie said in a statement.
"I promise to make the show my biggest and best ever and cannot wait for you all to hear my new songs... All tickets for the Nice to Meet You Tour 2013 will still be valid but for the new dates," she added.
The tour was due to kick off in Nottingham on February 26, but it will now begin in Belfast on October 15, 2013.
