Washington: Sir Paul McCartney, who is ‘always interested’ in new musical directions, has revealed that he was ‘excited’ when he was approached to write the music for the ballet production ‘Ocean’s Kingdom’.
The former Beatles star revealed that he was enthralled to get the offer from choreographer Peter Martins, as it was something he had never done before.
“I said that I hadn’t [considered ballet before] but would be excited to think about it because I am always interested in new directions that I haven’t worked in before,” Contactmusic quoted him as telling the Times. “I have done a few orchestral pieces and really enjoyed working with an orchestra,” he added. ‘Ocean’s Kingdom’ opened in New York last week.
