New York: Madonna joined Twitter on Monday for just one day, to talk about her new album which is her first in four years.
To kick off the promotion of her 12th studio album, ‘MDNA’- set to be released on March 27 - the 53-year-old singer talked directly to her fans, the New York Daily News reported.
The pop queen’s website announced the news and the Twitter handle @MadonnaMDNAday first sent a tweet out Sunday to promote the chat.
Followers could submit their questions to the singer by using the hashtag #AskMadonna in their tweets. Her Twitter account already has more than 14,000 followers.
Fans from throughout the world had already begun flooding Twitter with questions for Madonna before she got to the microblogging site. Some of the queries were on her set-list choices for the next tour, what music she listens to and on surviving in today’s turbulent music industry.
According to Mashable, Twitter is not the Material Girl’s first foray into social networking. She joined talk-show host Jimmy Fallon Saturday for a one-on-one Q and A exclusively streamed live on Facebook. In order to watch the chat, fans had to like her page on the site.
Before the chat launched, Facebook helped to set up Madonna’s page and fill her timeline with footage from throughout her storied career, the Wall Street Journal revealed.
The Michigan native already has accrued over 8 million “likes” on her page.
