London: Reese Witherspoon looked smoking hot on the freezing red carpet as she promoted her film, This Means War, that provides a glimpse into her sexy side.
The Oscar winning actress braved the British winter in a green and black sequinned Louis Vuitton minidress without a coat despite 2C temperatures.
The 35-year-old admitted to enjoying her role as a spy at the centre of a love triangle in the new action comedy.
She was accompanied by co-stars Chris Pine, a former Star Trek movie star and Tom Hardy at the premiere at the Odeon cinema in Kensington, west London.
In the movie, Pine and Hardy star as CIA agents who are also best friends until they fall for the same woman, played by Witherspoon.
The actress, who won an Oscar for playing June Carter Cash in Walk The Line, told reporters it had given her an opportunity to vamp it up for the role.
‘‘I think everybody grows up, you become more mature and you want to explore different kinds of stuff, but it’s a very fun comedy too,” the Telegraph quoted her as saying.
‘‘She’s very sexy in this role. I said to her, ‘Men really like you and you’re America’s sweetheart, the world’s sweetheart’, but we went further with some overt sexuality, gave her a little bit more volume in her hair, a little smokiness to her eyes,” Director McG said.
“A bit more va-va-voom in a knockout kind of way and she went for it, and she’s really up there on the kitchen counter making out with Chris Pine, then doing the same thing with Tom Hardy,’’ he added.
Witherspoon, a mother-of-two who married agent Jim Toth last year, said having her co-stars fight over her was ‘‘great’’.
‘‘I’m not going to lie. It wasn’t a hard day to go to work,’’ she added.
