Ben Stiller doesn`t believe in renewing marriage vows

There may be trend of renewing marriage vows in showbiz these days but not for Hollywood actor Ben Stiller.

Los Angeles: There may be trend of renewing marriage vows in showbiz these days but not for Hollywood actor Ben Stiller. The actor says he doesn`t see the point in marriage renewals and believes communication and laughter keep his marriage strong, OK! magazine reported.
The `Meet the Parents` star has been married to Christine Taylor since May 2000, after they met on a pilot TV show that was never broadcast, and believes good communication is key to a lasting romance. The 44-year-old star said, "If your relationship is in good shape and you`re communicating with each other and you`re close, then that`s what`s important." "The vows thing is the vows, but I think it has to be implicit that you meant it the first time," he added. Stiller`s comments come after a recent bout of celebrity marriage renewals, including Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon and Heidi Klum and Seal. Rather than renewing his own promises, Stiller keeps the spark alive in his marriage by making Christine laugh as much as possible. "For me, laughter is such a huge part of a relationship. My wife has a great sense of humour. What I like is to try to make her laugh. Sometimes she laughs at things that I take too seriously, which I find helpful in keeping me grounded. I used to be a workaholic, but now I`m happy at home. For the first time I`m beginning to feel grown up," Stiller said. PTI
