Chaitra Navaratri 2017: How to reach Mahalakshmi Temple in Mumbai

People visiting Mumbai generally do not miss paying a visit to the famous Mahalakshmi Temple on Bhulabahi Desai Road, overlooking the Arabian Sea in Mumbai built between 1761 A.D.1771 A.D.

The temple devoted to Goddess Maha Lakshmi has two other Goddesses – Maha Kali and Maha Saraswati.

Those lodging in Mumbai suburbs may opt for the local train to reach the Mahalakshmi Temple. Trains ply between Virar and Churchgate (Western Line), Karjat/Kasara to CST (Central Line) and Panvel to CST (Harbour Line).

You do not have to change train if you are travelling from the Western suburbs. But you will have to take a connecting train to the Mahalakshmi station from Dadar on the Western Line if you are coming from either the central (Karjat/ Kasara) or harbour (Panvel) line.

If you are lodging in South Mumbai – Colaba, Nariman Point, Marine Lines, Charni Road, Grant Road or somewhere near Mumbai Central, cabs or BEST buses can also be considered as transport options. You can also board a train from Churchgate ( in case you are at Nariman Point or Colaba) and detrain at the Mahalakshmi station.

From the Mahalakshmi station, you can hire a cab to reach the temple which is barely one kilometre away.
