AFC officials visit Nehru Stadium

Panaji: A three-member Asian Football Confederation (AFC) team comprising Steve Tae H Kim, Maksat
Klychmamedov, and Tokuaki Suzuki from AFC Professional Football Project department visited the Nehru Stadium at Fatorda as a part of the inspection of home grounds of the I-league clubs for the AFC Cup participating teams. The main aim behind yesterday`s visit of the officials, who are Communications Manager, Development Manager and Director Competitions respectively, is to implement the Vision Goa programme by getting the I-League clubs to implement the guidelines laid down by AFC for I-League clubs to implement the guidelines laid down by the AFC for I-League clubs. The officials visited Churchill Brothers` training ground at Benaulim and then the Nehru stadium and enquired on the security measures and facilities available for the print and television media. Besides, they have also suggested some changes in the media gallery so as to facilitate the arrangement of a free zone. Later, the officials enquired about the floodlights and requested to submit a copy and details of the light intensity of the floodlights that are to be installed at the Nehru Stadium. They also instructed to get a report from a third independent party on the quality of light after installation. The AFC officials will visit Dempo and Salgaocar clubs today before they present their report at AIFF office at Delhi on November 2 so that the clubs undertake remedial measures if need be, to meet the deadline of December 31.
