Barca defender Abidal out for six to eight weeks

Barcelona: Barcelona and France left back Eric Abidal injured an adductor muscle in his left leg in training on Tuesday and will be out for six to eight weeks, the La Liga club said on their website.

Coach Pep Guardiola is already without suspended central defenders Gerard Pique and Rafael Marquez, as well as right back Daniel Alves and midfielder Yaya Toure, who are injured, for Sunday`s match at Atletico Madrid. Undefeated Barca top the standings with 55 points from 21 matches, five ahead of second-placed Real Madrid, who play at bottom club Xerez on Saturday.Bureau Report
