London: Chelsea will be without their first and second-choice goalkeepers as they try to reclaim top spot in the Premier League against West Ham United on Saturday.
Reserve keeper Ross Turnbull will be between the posts after Hilario was ruled out with a groin injury. Hilario has been deputising for Petr Cech who is sidelined with a calf injury.
Chelsea, who are two points behind leaders Manchester United with a game in hand, will also be without Portuguese central defender Ricardo Carvalho.
“Hilario is not able to play tomorrow, so in goal will play Turnbull,” Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti told the club’s website (www.chelseafc.com). “We don’t know if Hilario or Petr will be able to play (in the Champions League against Inter Milan) Tuesday, but Carvalho I think will have no problem for Tuesday.”
Turnbull will be making his first league appearance for Chelsea since signing from Middlesbrough.
