Delhi wins boys and girls AITA U-14 Super Series titles

Berhampur (Orissa): Delhi won both the boys and girls singles titles in the All India Tennis Association

(AITA) Super Series Under-14 tournament here today. Garvit Batra won the boys singles title after defeating second seeded Sahil Deshmukh of Maharashtra 6-2, 6-2 in the final clash. Simran Kaur Sethi won the girls singles title by overcoming second seeded Iska Akshara of Andhra Pradesh 6-7, 6-3, 6-1. Sethi of Delhi and Dhruti Venugopal of Karnataka won the under-14 doubles title in the girl`s category. They trounced Andhra Pradesh pair of Shivani Mula and Nidhi Surapaneni 6-1, 6-1 in the final match. Delhi boy Batra and Prajwal Dev of Karnataka were declared doubles title winners in the boys category as they got a walk over in the final against Vignesh Prabhu of Tamil Nadu and Sahil Deshmukh of Maharashtra after Prabhu sustained injury during the match. In the five-day tournament, organised by Ganjam District Tennis Association, altogether 66 players from across the country participated. PTI
