Dola and Rimil shine, India finish 3rd in Archery World Cup

Kolkata: Veteran Dola Banerjee and rookie Rimil Buriuly helped India finish third in the women`s recurve team event at the World Cup archery (Stage IV) FITA round at Shanghai, China.
The Indian trio of Dola, Rimil and Pratima Boro totalled 3974 to finish third, behind Korea (4100) and Russia (4007).
India will next face 14th ranked Kazakhstan in the first round of the team elimination on Saturday.
It was 18-year-old Rimil from Jamshedpur, who emerged as the best archer among the Indian lot as she garnered 1344 points to capture the sixth spot, while Dola scored 1331 to finish 11th and Pratima aggregated 1299 to lie 31th. The fourth member Reena Kumari was just one place behind her at 32 with a total of 1298.A Tata Archery Academy cadet, Rimil scored 334 points over the 70m distance to be placed second behind Korean Yun Ok-Hee (336) but the Indian could not match the Korean in the subsequent distances and returned with 331, 328, 351 in the 60m, 50m, 30m distances respectively to settle for the sixth spot.
Meanwhile, Dola shot 319 in the 70m, 333 in 60m, 326 in the 50m and emerged as the fifth best in the 30m scoring 353.
Pratima, however, couldn`t live up to the occasion and scored 318 (70m), 321 (60m), 326(50m) and 334(30m).
