New Delhi: Sports Minister MS Gill on Monday said despite rain work to give finishing touches to the
competition venues will be over on time before the start of the Commonwealth Games. Gill inspected facilities at four venues -- Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Lawn Ball stadium, Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee stadium and expressed confidence that they will be ready on time. "Despite the heavy rains, the work is going on in full force and everyone is confident of delivering the Games," said Gill. He praised the administrators and workers for their effort to finish work at the earliest. "At every stadium, administrators and work force are working round the clock with full enthusiasm, which is really heartening," said Gill. Commonwealth Games are scheduled to be held from October 3-14. PTI
