Gill sanctions Rs 20 lakh for Subroto Cup

New Delhi: In view of the golden jubilee year of the Subroto Cup football tournament, Sports Minister MS Gill has sanctioned an additional amount of Rs 20 lakh to the organisers of the event.

The amount was granted with an aim to encourage sports at the school and college levels and the money is in addition to the annual Rs 5 lakh that the Ministry traditionally gives to the organisers.Conducted by the Indian Air force in memory of first Indian Air Chief Subroto Mukherjee, the tournament celebrating its golden jubilee this year.The Sports Minister will also attend the Subroto Cup final tomorrow.
