With 160 points in their kitty, India also jumped one place to 21st among 46 nations in the Asian Football Confederation. Despite their disappointing performance in the World Cup, Australia maintained their 20th spot to lead the AFC countries. Japan, who reached the round of 16 in South Africa, jumped 13 places to 32nd while South Korea, who also made it to the second round, are third at 44th. The fourth Asian country which made it to South Africa, North Korea jumped two places to be ranked 103rd in the world and 15th among AFC nations. Meanwhile, World Cup winners Spain rose to the top of world rankings, replacing Brazil, who are now at third. Beaten finalists the Netherlands moved up one place to second. PTI
