Ishikawa wins Taiheiyo Masters for third title

Japanese teenager Ryo Ishikawa won the Taiheiyo Masters on Sunday after shooting a 5-under 67 to hold off Australian Brendan Jones, who sank an eagle putt on the last hole.

Gotemba : Japanese teenager Ryo Ishikawa won the Taiheiyo Masters on Sunday after shooting a 5-under 67 to hold off Australian Brendan Jones, who sank an eagle putt on the last hole. The 19-year-old Ishikawa carded seven birdies against two bogeys at the Taiheiyo Club`s Gotemba Course to finish at 14-under 274.Jones was two shots back after also shooting a 67. It was Ishikawa`s third win of the season on the Japanese tour.Jones, who won this event in 2007, pulled to within one stroke of Ishikawa when he made a 30-foot eagle putt on the par-5 18th. But Ishikawa birdied the final hole to secure the win.
