Big serving American John Isner saved a championship point before beating France`s Arnaud Clement 6-3 5-7 7-6 to win the Auckland Open on Saturday.

Auckland: Big serving American John Isner saved a championship point before beating France`s Arnaud Clement 6-3 5-7 7-6 to win the Auckland Open on Saturday.The 24-year-old Isner staved off match point in the 12th game of the final set to drag the score to deuce before he smashed two aces past the French veteran to send the match into a tiebreak.He then raced away with the shootout, jumping out to a 3-1 lead, before blasting a forehand service winner down the line to seal his first ATP Tour title. Earlier, the last-minute pairing of New Zealand`s Marcus Daniell and Romanian Horia Tecau clinched the doubles title with a 7-5 6-4 victory over Brazil`s Marcelo Melo and Bruno Soares.
