The German finished $290,000 euros ($384,600) ahead of closest rival Graeme McDowell after tying for 13th in the Dubai World Championship. Karlsson picked up the 11th European victory of his career when he played a pinpoint iron to three feet at the second playoff hole and sank his birdie putt. Poulter failed to sink his effort from 40 feet. Earlier, the Swede shot a 67 to finish with a 14-under total of 274 while overnight leader Poulter carded a 70. Bureau Report
