Khanna-Praween duo 8th in Full Bore Shooting C`ship

in the Queen`s Prize pairs event at the ongoing VI
Commonwealth Full Bore Shooting Championship here on Wednesday.

New Delhi: India`s Amit Khanna and Praween
Dahiya scored 236.2 points to be placed in the eighth position
in the Queen`s Prize pairs event at the ongoing VI
Commonwealth Full Bore Shooting Championship here on Wednesday.
Apart from the pairs event, Dahiya shot a cent percent
50/50 to find himself in the 15th position in the Queen`s
Prize badge category.
In the QP pairs event, South African pair of Jan Jonck
and Petrus Haasbroek again came up with perfect shots and
improved their position to be placed at the first spot with
250 points.
The South African duo were followed by Michael Collings
and John Snowden of New Zealand with 247 points and Geoffrey
Grenfell and James Corbett of Australia with 247 points.
In the QP badge event, the first position was being
shared by seven shooters with cumulative points of 100 points
each.
Northern Ireland`s David Calvert, Morris Gareth of Wales,
Australian Geoffrey Grenfell, Jan Jonck and Petrus Haasbroek
of South Africa, New Zealand`s John Snowden and Daniel
Richardson of Jersey leads the chart in the QP badge category.
However, despite scoring a cent percent in 500 yards with
a cumulative score of 98 points, India`s Dahiya lie in the
disappointing 15th spot in the category.
Meanwhile in the QP individual event, Australian shooters
James Corbett and Geoffrey Grenfell and Garreth Morris of
Wales share the first positions with 170 points each. They
were closely followed by Canada`s James Paton with 169 points.
The championship is being considered as a test event for
the Commonwealth Games to be held here later this year.
