Ministry asks NSFs to submit audited accounts, eliminate dope

In a bid to ensure transparent and clean sports activities in the country, the Ministry on Thursday made it mandatory for all the National Federations to submit audited accounts.

New Delhi: In a bid to ensure transparent and clean sports activities in the country, the Ministry on Thursday
made it mandatory for all the National Federations to submit audited accounts of the last three years and state the steps taken to eliminate doping in their respective games. In a letter to the NSFs outlining the new annual recognition procedure, the ministry asked them to furnish information relating to 20 important areas, including details of funds received from various sources and steps taken to comply with WADA/NADA Code along with details of cases found positive and action taken thereon. The other requirements include submission of annual reports, details of current management along with affiliates states/units, Memorandum of Association, names of core probable athletes, coaches including foreigner appointees and government observers, participation in international, national and zonal championships, action taken on issue of identity cards to national athletes and for prevention of age frauds. Any federation, which fails to comply with these requirements will not be granted renewal till such time they furnish requisite information and accordingly will not be eligible to receive assistance under the Scheme of Assistance to National Sports Federations and other Schemes of the Ministry for the period of gap in recognition, a ministry release said.
