Mumbai: Hosts Mumbai FC will hope to extend
their eight-match unbeaten run in I-League football tournament
and bag three points against Lajong FC when they lock horns in
an 11th-round match at the Cooperage ground here tomorrow.
A win will elevate the hosts, who held Kolkata giants and
Federation Cup champions East Bengal to a goalless draw in
their previous match, to the joint fifth spot along with Mohun
Bagan who face League toppers Mahindra United at the same
venue on Thursday.
Mumbai FC have so far accumulated 14 points from 10
matches with the help of three victories and five draws after
losing their first two matches.
Meanwhile, visitors Lajong, who had a forgetful outing
against Mahindra in their previous match at the Cooperage,
will look to prove their Federation Cup success was no fluke.
Lajong, thrashed 5-0 by Mahindra, have lost all their
matches since beating Churchill Brothers in the Federation Cup
semifinal last month.
The visitors, lying in the bottom half of the table, have
scored nine points from 10 matches.
