Nuremberg sack coach Oenning after poor run: Club source

Berlin: Nuremberg have sacked coach Michael Oenning with the promoted side deep in the Bundesliga relegation zone, a club source said on Monday.

Oenning took over in 2008, steering the team into the top division in his first season, but has seen Nuremberg lose their last four games without scoring a goal.They are second from bottom with 12 points from 17 games after losing 3-0 at Cologne on Sunday. "The club has parted ways with Oenning today," the source told reporters after Nuremberg bosses held a meeting on Monday.Club spokesman Martin Haltermann said a news conference was planned for 1500 GMT on Monday at which any decision coming out of the board meeting would be officially announced.
