London: Mexican Sergio Perez left hospital on Monday, two days after the qualifying crash that forced the Sauber driver to miss Formula One`s Monaco Grand Prix.
The 21-year-old, who suffered bruising and concussion, said he would now be doing everything possible to make sure he was back in the car in Canada next week. "I`m pretty sure I will be driving in Montreal," he said in a team statement. Perez, who crashed at the tunnel exit in the final phase of qualifying, had some final tests before leaving the Princess Grace hospital in the Mediterranean principality. "I feel okay. I have little bit of pain in my leg and in my neck, but this comes from muscles and is nothing to worry about," he said. "On Sunday I still felt a bit dizzy but that is all. Thank God I`m healthy and I`m looking forward to being back in the car soon." The Mexican said he could remember only some of the accident."For the time being I am missing some memories about what happened after the first impact and the rescue procedures," he explained. "I don`t really know what caused the accident."My race engineer told me there was no problem with the car. I can only guess that I might have been a bit offline or braked on a bump." Bureau Report
