Belgrade: Serbia on Saturday revealed they will send in Nenad Zimonjic and Viktor Troicki, rather than world number three Novak Djokovic, for the doubles contest with France after splitting Friday’s opening Davis Cup final singles.
The pair will meet Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra as they look to give the Serbs a 2-1 lead in Belgrade as the eastern European nation bids for its first title against the French, who have won the trophy nine times.
Skipper Bogdan Obradovic made the decision to stick with Troicki - who is 2-0 in the competition partnering Zimonjic to date - although French captain Guy Forget has voiced his hunch that Djokovic would get the nod.The decision came shortly before the match, scheduled to start at 1400 GMT>
Djokovic had fired a blistering 62 winners in his straight sets win over Gilles Simon on Friday which pulled the Serbs level at the Belgrade Arena after Gael Monfils had defeated Janko Tipsarevic also in straight sets.
