Soumyadeep, Poulomi win singles titles

Bolpur: India`s table tennis couple Soumyadeep Roy and Poulomi Ghatak clinched the men`s and women`s titles respectively in the National Ranking (East Zone) Championship here on Sunday.

Roy faced a little resistance from Sourav Chakraborty before clinching the issue 13-11, 11-8, 8-11, 11-5, 13-11 at Kabi Guru Krirangan in SAI Centre. Poulami on the other hand had to sweat out against K Shamini as she stiff resistance before triumphing 11-5, 5-11, 12-10, 11-8, 5-11, 11-8 for the top honours.Sudhangsu Gole (junior), Anirban Ghosh (sub-junior), Soumyajit Ghosh (youth) in the boys section, while Mallika Bhandarkar (junior), Anuska Dutta (sub-junior), Divya Deshpande (youth) in the girls section are the other winners.
