Sunny Sidhu leads in Xtreme category after day 3

Jaisalmer: The drivers toiled to negotiate Rajasthan`s sandy tracks as Sunny Sidhu of Team Godwin emerge as the leader in Xtreme category at the end of day three of Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm Rally.
The Amritsor driver, along with navigator Surender Kumar Nadai did better than defending champion Suresh Rana and opened up a 3 minutes 43 seconds lead before the day`s journey came to halt. Major AS Brar, who won the last edition of `Raid De Himalayas` earlier this year, was in third position – just over six minute behind the leader.The rally, which traversed almost 400km during the day`s journey, went past Pokhran -- India`s nuclear testing site -- before reaching here late in evening. The rally saw several mishaps during the last 48 hours of its journey.The car of Punjab duo of Gurinder Sidhu and Sunny Sekhon -- competing in Xtreme category, toppled when they were trying to negotiate some tough terrains in the first leg of the rally at Purnasur, 50km from Bikaner. Both of them, however, escaped unhurt. PTI
