Two-day Yachting Championship begins on Saturday

Kochi: The two-day Kerala Yachting Championship will be held at the Kerala Sailing Academy club house here on June 26 and 27.

Over 40 participants representing various clubs have registered to compete in the championship,Francis Mukkannikal, Secretary of Kerala Yachting Association, the organisers, told journalists on Friday. This series of races will be conducted in five differenet districts in Kerala, from which the state team would be chosen for the National Yachting Championship at Secunderabad in July. The race will be monitored by National Optimist Association of India and Officials from Yachting Association of India, he said. Among participating clubs include Trivandrum Sailing Club, Kollam Yachting Association, Alleppey Yachting Association, Indikki Sailing Association, Kottayam Sailing Club, Kerala Sailing Federation, Indian Navy and Kerala Sailing Academy.
