Wimbledon: Last women`s QF interrupted by rain

London: The last Wimbledon women`s quarter-final between Victoria Azarenka of Belarus and Austrian Tamira Paszek was halted by rain and slippery conditions after just one game.
The pair told the umpire they were unhappy to carry on because of the moist grass on Court One and as the referee was deciding what to do, rain began to fall.Azarenka and Paszek had been faced to wait several hours to get on Court One, which does not have a roof, after drizzle earlier in the day had delayed Petra Kvitova`s victory over Tsvetana Pironkova. Centre Court had the roof closed with wet weather around, allowing Sabine Lisicki and Maria Sharapova to win through to the last four.As the Azarenka match had already started on Court One, it cannot be shifted to Centre Court and if conditions do not improve the fourth seed and her Austrian opponent may have to return on Wednesday when the men`s last eight lock horns.
