The results of the Assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh are to be declared today.

Stakes are certainly high for ruling BJP, which is looking for a sixth term in Gujarat, and the Rahul Gandhi-led Congress party, which aims to end its 32-year drought here. While most of the exit polls have given BJP a clear edge over Congress, the latter is still confident that the real picture would be different

Exit polls for Himachal have predicted a clean sweep for BJP, replacing the Congress regime in the hill state. How accurate will be the projections? Will Virbhadra Singh manage to keep his party in power or will Prem Kumar Dhumal make a comeback after a five-year-gap?
