AAP MLA Mahendra Yadav sent to 1-day police custody for assaulting Delhi govt official

Delhi Police on Friday arrested Aam Aadmi Party MLA Mahendra Yadav for allegedly assaulting a government official.

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Friday arrested Aam Aadmi Party MLA Mahendra Yadav for allegedly assaulting a government official.

Mahendra Yadav is a member of Delhi's ruling AAP and represents the Vikaspuri assembly seat.

Yadav was arrested in a case of rioting and assault on public servant, according to police.

The AAP MLA was arrested while he was protesting against Delhi Police for not filing an FIR in a case of rape of a minor girl.

He was produced before the Tis Hazari court, which sent him to one day police custody.
