DDA Housing Scheme 2014 draw likely to be held on Tuesday

After much delays, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is likely to hold draw for its 2014 Housing Scheme on Tuesday.

New Delhi: After much delays, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is likely to hold draw for its 2014 Housing Scheme on Tuesday.

The process of draw, that will start at 11.30 AM will be completed in less than two hours, DDA's official spokesperson said, adding that the randomisation of data in the system would begin around 9 AM.

"We will start the randomisation of data at 9 AM, which would take around two hours. The final draw would start at 11.30 AM which would stretch about one hour and 45 minutes," DDA spokesperson Nemo Dhar said.

The agency had earlier decided to hold the draw today but has now again shifted the date to November 25.

The draw was originally scheduled to be held at the agency's headquarters, Vikas Sadan, on November 5 but has been postponed a number of times since then.

The agency has been having problems in dealing with the humongous number of application forms.

The mock draws by the DDA, reportedly, were not able to finish the whole process in less than six hours.

More than ten lakh people have applied for the housing scheme.

The DDA has announced that the entire draw will be webcast live on the internet on a dedicated url - www.ddadrawlive.in.

"We have created a dedicated website (www.ddadrawlive.in) for the draw, and instead of directly webcasting through a YouTube channel, we later decided to create a separate window for the event altogether, where online user can see the proceedings live," DDA's Director (Systems) VS Tomar had said earlier, as per PTI.

C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing), which had conducted the draw for DDA's last housing scheme in 2010, has been roped in this time again for the event.

25,000 flats across various categories are on offer by the DDA this time. They are in the price range of Rs 7 lakh to Rs 1.2 crore.

EWS, LIG, MIG, HIG, Janta flats and one-room apartments are on offer.

The last date for filling application forms was October 15.
