New Delhi: In an incident that has brought to forefront the racket of wrongful admissions being sought and given in schools under EWS category, the Delhi government has busted a racket issuing fake income certificates.

On the orders of DM South district Niharika Rai two teams conducted some raids and found documents, including the application forms of the persons for getting various documents such as income certificate, caste certificates, voter cards, etc.

The team of Delhi government working on it has detected 13 such cases. While one FIR has already been lodged, the team is taking action against other cases.

The DM has now sought the details and records of last three years EWS students from the schools to crosscheck their authenticity.

The DM in an attempt to work on regular basis for improving the public delivery mechanism in the district and to ensure that benefits from the government reach to the rightful beneficiaries, has taken up the task of identifying the genuineness of EWS children in the schools of the district and to also analyse in the long run whether the benefits of EWS are reaching to the enrolled EWS category children or not,” said Delhi govt spokesperson.
