Delhi: Teen arrested for vehicle thefts, snatching

New Delhi: A teenager was arrested here for
his alleged involvement in vehicle thefts and snatching,
police said on Sunday.

Akash was apprehended on January 26 soon after he and his
associate Sunny allegedly snatched a mobile phone and was
fleeing, Additional Commissioner of Police (West) V
Renganathan said.

Sunny managed to flee from the spot in a motorcycle.
Akash is allegedly involved in two cases of vehicle theft
and one of snatching.

"His father is a history-sheeter of Nihal Vihar police
station. Akash started auto-lifting and snatching to meet his
personal expenses. As a minor, he was also earlier apprehended
in incidents of mobile phone snatching," Renganathan said.

Akash used to ride stolen motorcycle along with Sunny who
used to snatch mobile phones from unsuspecting victims.
