New Delhi: In order to teach a lesson to his wife who objected to his affair with his student, a 35-year-old teacher faked his abduction and murder and went in hiding in Dehradun but was traced and arrested, police said on Saturday.
Ashish Kumar Peter, a coaching institute owner and a resident of Swatanter Nagar in Narela, went missing from his institute on the Teacher`s Day.
Peter`s wife, Ritu Peter, had lodged a complaint with the police after she found the shutter of the institute partially open and blood stains in the room and on the walls, suspected him to have been abducted and murdered, a senior police official said.
During inspection of the crime scene, it appeared that Peter was abducted or murdered and his body disposed off.
His wife told the police that Peter woke up at 4 AM and went to his coaching centre and after about half an hour when she reached there with tea, she didn`t find him and saw blood on the wall and the floor and made the call.
"During the probe, doubts surfaced that the crime scene was staged, manipulated and fabricated, which was confirmed by a team of forensic science lab team," said MA Rizvi, ACP Outer District.
It also came to light that Peter had purchased a new SIM number (cell number) from one Sanjeev and when its call details were analysed, its location was traced in Dehradun (Uttarakhand), he said.
A police team was sent to Dehradun and Peter was found in his friend Ajay Kukreti`s place in Patel Nagar.
During interrogation, Peter said he had an affair with one of his students and his wife objected to it due to which there were frequent quarrels in his house over the issue.
Fed up with his wife`s intervention, he decided to teach her a lesson and to create a suspicion he slashed his right palm with blade and splattered blood on the floor, wall and door of the room to create a scene of abduction and murder," Rizvi said.
He fled to Dehradun but kept in touch with his students. He had also shaved his head and removed his moustache to hide is identity, he said.
