Will Arvind Kejriwal fulfill AAP`s promises of 700 litres of water, cheap electricity?

New Delhi: With decks cleared for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to form government in Delhi, all eyes are now on Chief Minister designate Arvind Kejriwal, whether he would be able to deliver his promise to provide 700 litres of free water, cheap electricity bills, order probe against some Congress leaders allegedly involved in corruption among other things he mentioned in the party manifesto. Kejriwal had on Wednesday reiterated that he will provide 700 litres of free water to each household within 24 hours of taking oath along with his Cabinet ministers on December 28. Also Read: People of Delhi are the CM, not me: Kejriwal Both Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are keeping a close watch on every move of Kejriwal and would certainly not spare any moment to criticise his party if any of the promises made during election campaign remain unfulfilled. Not only the main opposition parties, even Delhiites have high hopes from the new political outfit, which had a dream run in the recently held Assembly polls here. Congress has also set a three-month deadline for AAP to deliver its agendas, which the latter had promised before Delhi Assembly elections. The Congress yesterday scotched speculation that it was having second thoughts on giving support to the AAP, removing what initially looked like the last of the hurdles vis-a-vis government formation. The BJP has termed the promises made by AAP as impractical. Calling AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal as “too adventurous”, BJP leader Balbir Punj has said that the chief minister designate makes tall promises. “Let us see if he lives up to people`s expectations,” Punj said. Kejriwal, who tapped into public anger to take the AAP to the corridors of power, will take oath on Saturday as Delhi`s seventh chief minister, with his party promising to "completely overhaul" the system. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Ramlila Maidan, where Anna Hazare fasted for 12 days for Jan Lokpal Bill with Kejriwal as one of his aides.
