London: Women’s shot put gold medallist at the London Olympics 2012, Nadzeya Ostapchuk has been stripped of her title after being tested positive in a doping test, the IOC announced on Monday.
Ostapchuk, 31, threw 21.36m in her third attempt to win the gold medal last week.
Ostapchuk has now been disqualified after IOC official said metemolone was found in a urine sample.
Valerie Adams of New Zealand, who secured second, then, has now been awarded gold.
