Bangladesh agrees in principle to tour Pakistan in 2013

Bangladesh have agreed in principle to tour Pakistan early next year and become the first team to play international cricket in the country since the terrorist attack on Sri Lanka`s team bus.

Islamabad: Bangladesh have agreed in principle to tour Pakistan early next year and become the first team to play international cricket in the country since the terrorist attack on Sri Lanka`s team bus in 2009, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has said.
"We have in principle agreed to tour Pakistan. It`s a commitment made by former BCB president Mustafa Kamal. We are keeping his word," The Dawn quoted Enayet Husain Siraj, BCB``s head of cricket operations, as saying.
Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had told the BCB that no Pakistani player will be permitted to play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) unless the country fulfils its commitment of sending the national team to Pakistan for one ODI and one T20 as decided previously. Under the prior commitment, Bangladesh was scheduled to send the national squad to Pakistan in April this year for one ODI and a T20. However, Bangladesh amid security concerns postponed the tour at the eleventh hour after intervention from the country`s high court. But now the PCB wants to get BCB assurance for the said tour before allowing its players to figure in the second edition of the BPL. ANI
