New York , Dec 02: The Frenchman dubbed ‘Spiderman’ for his daring ascents of skyscrapers around the world pleaded guilty Monday to climbing a 52-story building in New York.
Alain Robert, 45, ‘agreed to plead guilty’ to the non-criminal charge of disorderly conduct, his lawyer Daniel Arshack told reporters.
A New York judge sentenced the daredevil to pay a 250 dollars fine and serve three days of community service with a non-profit organization.
Robert was arrested after climbing the New York Times building in Manhattan this June in a stunt to raise awareness about climate change.
He claims to have climbed 70 buildings and monuments worldwide, including the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Sydney Opera House and many skyscrapers.
