Abhishek turns down cameo opposite Rani in Yash Raj’s next

Mumbai, Nov 14: In spite of having very warm and friendly relations with the Aditya Chopra banner, actor Abhishek Bachchan has turned down a cameo role in Yash Raj’s upcoming flick, starring Rani Mukerji and Shahid Kapur in lead roles. Although YRF is undoubtedly a big brand to work with and only a few actors have the courage to say no to an offer like that. According to sources, after the debacle of Abhi’s recent venture, ‘Drona’, he has become all the more cautious in choosing the script and characters and has started giving less importance to the banner. The actor recently refused an offer for Yash Raj’s forthcoming film as Abhishek is reportedly not interested in doing a small role in any film especially after his special appearance in Pradeep Sarkar’s ‘Laaga Chunari Mein Daag’, as the film had failed badly to make it big at the Box Office. Anurag Singh’s untitled film revolves around a local cricket team. Rani, who plays a cricketer in the film, dresses up like a man and sports a turban too. Apparently the role which was offered to Abhishek was a small cameo. He was supposed to be a cricket player and had very few scenes. However, Abhishek turned down the role saying that he could not have done it due to unavailability of dates. Now when Abhishek has refused to be part of it, YRF is planning to rope in another big star for the same role. Wonder if Shah Rukh would come to YRF’s rescue yet again!
