Centre recommends Pak govt to freeze all bank accounts of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim: Reports

New Delhi: Centre has sought information on the whereabouts of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim from Pakistan and has recommended them to freeze all his bank accounts, reports claimed on Tuesday.

According to reports, home ministry sources told that at least 10 bank accounts in Pakistan which are linked to Dawood have been identified.

The bank accounts were identified by intelligence agencies after following the circuitous money trail of hawala transactions, the sources added.

The Combating of Funding of Terrorist Cell, which functions under the MHA, tracks suspicious bank accounts and recommends a freeze on them, it said.

Meanwhile, the Centre has also sought information about the Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief and founder of Lashkar-e-Toiba, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed and Mumbai Terror attacks master mind Zaki-ur-rehman Lakhvi from the Pak government.

Earlier, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had said that 1993 Mumbai blasts mastermind Dawood Ibrahim is in Pakistan and that India is determined to bring him back.
