New Delhi: India is preparing to welcome US President Barack Obama to witness the Republic Day Parade here as the chief guest this year. He will be the first US President to do so when he arrives later this week.

Keeping in view the proposed three-day visit, heightened security arrangements have been put in place for Obama, who lands in Delhi on Sunday.

Following is the complete itinerary of the US President's visit to India -

Obama's plane, Air Force One, will land at Delhi International Airport at 4:45 am on January 25.

At 11.20 am the US President will meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House in Delhi.

Both leaders will subsequently hold a joint press conference at 1:20 pm and later in the evening, around 7 pm, Obama will attend dinner at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

On January 26, Obama will witness the Republic Day celebrations as the chief guest, sitting there in the open for around two hours.

At 3:45 pm, Indian President Pranab Mukherjee will receive Barack Obama at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

In the evening at 5:45 pm, the US President will attend CEO roundtable at Maurya Sheraton with PM Modi.

On the last day, January 27, of his three-day visit, Obama will go on a tour of Taj Mahal.

By 4: 35 pm he will reach Palam and will depart at 5: 50 pm for US.

An unprecedented security net has been spread in Rajpath and surrounding areas. Thousands of security cameras have also been installed for round the clock vigil.

Obama will be staying at ITC Maurya hotel and all routes from there to Rajpath are being monitored. All entry points to India Gate have been sealed and a seven-layer security net has been put in the area.
