New Delhi: With Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief and 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks mastermind Hafiz Mohammad Saeed reportedly terming India as `enemy number one`, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday said that the former was unaware about the teachings of Islam.
"People like Hafiz Saeed are unaware about teachings of Islam, jihad in Islam. They are killing innocent lives in Pakistan, children are being killed. They are using Pakistan for maligning another country. The Government of India should take strict action against it and I condemn his comments in clear and strong words," said Owaisi.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju earlier in the day condemned Saeed`s `anti-India` remark and said that a government cannot function under threats.
"Our country is not a weak country. We should not get frightened and react on every such comments coming from them. They will say what they want to, but we represent the government and hence we should respond with sanity," he said.
Minister of State in Prime Minister`s Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh on his part said Pakistan has always adopted a policy of fishing in troubled waters.
"But one should keep in mind that the present government is much more capable of dealing with all kinds of situations as compared to previous one," he added.
