New Delhi: During their custody with the Delhi Police,  JNU students Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya expressed their desire to have Biryani and Momos from a dhaba in the university campus.

According to a report in Dainik Bhaskar, the duo also demanded that they should be kept with Kanhaiya Kumar, JNUSU president, who is also in police custody on sedition charges.

The report says that Khalid also asked his interrogators to provide him cigarettes as he is a chain smoker and wants to smoke.

Police said that both were served food from a hotel near the police station. They were also provided a Hindi newspaper. However, the cops refused to accept their other demands.

JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya are in police custody in connection with an anti-national sloganeering incident in the JNU campus.

All of them have been booked under sedition charges. Delhi Police is likely to present Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya in court today as their custody expires.
